ELAINE SIGMAN
R.Ph
I joined Knowles Apothecary in April 2025 continuing my pharmacy career that began in 1997. After graduating from Drake University in Des Moines, IA, I worked as a floating pharmacist for Osco. Due to the size of the metropolitan Kansas City area, I worked in 42 stores during my time with Osco. Relocating to Maryland, I worked continued my retail pharmacy career at Foer's Pharmacy for 21 years. The opportunity to expand my pharmacy skills lead me to work in Long Term Care for 2 years and then returned to direct patient care with Knowles Apothecary.
I knew at a young age I wanted a career that would allow me to actually help people. The longer I have been a pharmacist, I've learned that health and wellness is truly a holistic approach, including traditional medications in addition to supplements and lifestyle choices. Every body is different and the solution to one person's challenges may look completely different for another. Empathy and understanding are incredibly valuable skills for patient care.
Outside of work, I love going to concerts, specially Sturgill Simpson and Margo Price. My home is shared with Willie (a mixed breed dog that really is the BEST boy) and Big and Little Stripes (orange tabby brothers). If I ever win the lottery, I will help to build wildlife overpasses and help to fund spay and neuter clinics to prevent suffering and harm to animals.
